My current series of earring designs combine dichroic
glass with sterling silver or gold-filled wire. The beads are handcrafted
using a technique that fuses micro-thin layers of metal oxides onto
black or clear glass in a vacuum chamber. The beads using black glass
are brilliant and jewel-toned. The clear glass creates colors that
are shimmering and translucent. Following a dream I had about making
mobile earrings, I combined the glass and wire shapes to create a little
dance of light, color and movement.
